Fire consumes gambling business in Nakuru
Business owners at Keringet Shopping Centre, Kuresoi South, Nakuru County are counting losses after fire razed down their premises, which housed a gambling business, on Sunday, November 27 night.
According to residents, the fire started at around 10:oo pm Sunday after a faulty power connection short-circuted ledaing to an explosin.
“There is a transformer that stopped working two days ago, and led to a blackout in the area,” said one of the businesswomen, Judy Kiplangat.
According to the residents, the faulty transformer had showed signs of damage. They are accusing the Kenya Power Company of failing to listen to their plea and repair the transformer early enough.
They further claim that the County Government of Nakuru failed to send a fire brigades early enough despite them sending a notification on time.
