Five arrested over dormitory fire at Kebabe Secondary School

Police
are holding four students and a watchman in connection with a Tuesday morning
inferno that destroyed a dormitory housing 114 students at Kebabe SDA Mixed Secondary
in Bokimonge, Kenyenya, Kisii County.
Kenyenya
sub-county police boss Meza Gumbo said the fire broke out at around 5 a.m. as students
went for morning preps.
Gumbo
said the arrested boys will aid in investigations behind the inferno even as he
condemned the rise in cases of school fires in the region.
Recently,
a dorm at Nyakoiba High School also went up in flames.
