Flight diverted after man grabs female passenger ‘by the crotch’

An American Airlines flight was last week diverted after a man reportedly grabbed the passenger seated next to him by the crotch.

According to CNN, James Clayton Cholewinski-Boy touched the arm of the passenger – a woman only identified as E.J in the complaint form – by the arm but she pushed his hands away.

E.J was in the middle seat with her daughter on one side and Cholewinski-Boy on the other aboard the American Airlines Flight 807 from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Salt Lake City, Utah.

According to the alleged victim, after pushing away Cholewinski-Boy’s hands from her arm, he then “forcibly grabbed her by the crotch.”

The woman again pushed his hands away and, as stated in her complaint, Cholewinski-Boy tossed his hands in the air and said “sorry.”

She then notified the flight crew and was, alongside her daughter, moved to another seat before the pilot diverted the flight to Tulsa International Airport where the man was arrested.

He was charged with abusive sexual contact before later being released on his own recognizance.

“The quick actions of our crew ensured the safety and wellbeing of our customers on the flight,” said American Airlines in a statement.
