Form three student linked to robbery arrested

A form three student is being detained at a police station in Migori County after he allegedly assaulted and robbed an MPESA agent at Ogwedhi Market on Tuesday at around 10PM.

According to the victim, Mr.Peter Otieno, the suspect armed with a knife and a machete, attacked him at his house while demanding for ransom.

The victim was forced to his business premise by the attacker who stole a hefty sum of money and several phones.

The suspect escaped leaving behind his knife that was later recovered by the police.

The suspect is said to have visited Ogwedhi Health Center seeking medical attention.

Suna East AP Commander Samson Ogelo said they are still conducting investigations into the incident.

The residents of Ogwedhi lauded the police for responding quickly to arrest the suspect but also urged them to invigorate their effort on security matters saying that cases of theft have increased.

John Odera, a youth leader, said that similar cases of raid have been reported in the region in the recent past.
