Former Nairobi Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Anthony Kibuchi has passed away.

According to his daughter, Catherine Nyawira Kibuchi, he died on Tuesday at around 9:45 am while receiving treatment at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he had been admitted for the past three weeks.

Nyawira revealed that her father had been battling cancer since 2018. "My father was first diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and had been fighting it until his passing on Tuesday," she said.

Neighbours and friends of the late Kibuchi, including Richard Mwangi, remembered him as a devoted family man who made a significant impact on the community in Kirinyaga.

"He was instrumental in supporting many people in our area," Mwangi shared.

Kibuchi had a distinguished career in the police service, serving as the Provincial Police Officer (PPO) in North Eastern, Nyanza, and Nairobi before retiring.

Plans are now underway for his funeral. "We are preparing for his burial here in his hometown of Ngurubani," Nyawira confirmed. "He will be laid to rest next Wednesday at his Kianungu village home in Tebere Ward, Mwea."
