Former NTV presenter Janet Kanini-Ikua has died aged 38.

Mrs Ikua succumbed to lung cancer Saturday morning, according to family. The former N-Soko host had been battling lung cancer for the past two years. She is survived by a husband, George Ikua and two children – a six-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.

Benda Kithaka, the Chairperson of the Women for Cancer Early Detection and Treatment – and a close friend to the Ikuas, has eulogized Janet Kanini-Ikua as a “valiant warrior”.

“We grieve with the Ikua family, we honour and respect Janet. She has been a valiant warrior.”

More soon.
