Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odiga and Kalonzo Musyoka at the SKM Centre for an interdenominational Requiem Mass.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made a surprise appearance at the SKM Command Centre in Karen, Nairobi, where he joined Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leaders for a requiem mass held in honour of victims of police brutality.

Kenyatta arrived at the SKM Centre driving himself in a  G-Wagon Mercedes vehicle.

The former President was received by several leaders among them Azimio boss Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, and Eugene Wamalwa.

Kenyatta joined his counterparts in laying flowers in honour of the deceased.       

After the interdenominational prayers, the leaders made contributions towards helping the victims and their families with Kenyatta and Odinga contributing Ksh.1 million each.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka contributed Ksh.500,000, Eugene Wamalawa Ksh.200,000 while Azimio MPs jointly contributed Ksh.1.5 million.

At the same time, Governors of Kisii, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Machakos and Siaya County announced a waiver of hospital bills for maandamano victims.
