Four arrested for stealing BIDCO goods worth over Ksh.3M using forged LPOs

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects, Haron Mwangi Ndungu, James Nyaga Munyutha, Philip Njenga, and Paul Ngugi, have been using fake LPOs containing the letterhead of Chandaria LTD to carry out the crime. 

The DCI revealed that the suspects had previously made away with deliveries of BIDCO products on two different instances. 

“The arrest follows weeks of discreet surveillance, culminating in a swift operation when detectives received intelligence about their next move,” said the DCI.

Officers from the DCI’s Operations Actions Team (OAT) intercepted the suspects while on their way to Bidco with another forged LPO targeting to secure goods worth Sh 1,770,740.

"Detectives caught the suspects red-handed, led by Haron Mwangi Ndungu, who was at the wheel of their getaway vehicle, an Isuzu lorry registration number KDB 249Z, white in colour. On board were his accomplices, James Nyaga Munyutha, Philip Njenga, and Paul Ngugi, en route to Bidco once again, armed with another forged LPO, aiming to secure goods worth Sh1,770,740," said the DCI.

The four are in police custody pending arraignment.
