The recovery operation, which concluded in the Kangemi area of Dagoretti North, resulted in the arrest of four suspects: Alex Agar, Harrison Oyuoma, Dan Karani, and Beatrice Njoki, believed to be part of a criminal syndicate targeting high-value items in the city's upscale neighborhoods.
The incident began when a licensed firearm holder returned to his hotel room in Kilimani only to find it ransacked. The complainant had reportedly left the premises for errands, confident that his firearm and ammunition were securely locked away.
However, upon his return, he discovered his belongings turned upside down, and his prized Glock 19 was missing.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), investigators used forensic leads and intelligence gathering to track the movement of the stolen weapon.
The trail led them to a residence in Kangemi, where a decisive sting operation was launched by a team of detectives. During the raid, detectives pounced on four suspects.
A thorough search of the suspects' residence unveiled the stolen pistol and the 9mm ammunition, which had been hidden inside the house.
DCI confirmed that the four suspects are currently in custody and are being processed for arraignment in court.
