Four people killed in Kirinyaga accident

Four people perished in a grisly road accident involving a 14-seater public service vehicle and a motorcycle carrying four people at Minanda-iri along Kagio-Kutus road in Kirinyaga county Wednesday, April 12 evening.

Confirming the incident, Kirinyaga Police Commander, Joseph Nthenge, said the four were going home after work when the accident occurred.

He says the motorcycle was trying to overtake when it hit the vehicle.

Two People died on the spot while two others died while receiving treatment at Kerugoya Referral Hospital.

Residents, led by Kukena Sacco chairman, Jackson Mwangi, blamed the Ministry of Roads over potholes along the Kagio-Kutus road for accidents being witnessed in the area.
