Freed To Kill

One of the dead victims suspected of involvement in Saturday’s Mombasa blast had been convicted to hang for violent robbery. Police records indicate Mohamed Suleiman however appealed the 2011 sentencing and was freed on bond in February this year. The second suspected victim, Jamal Mohamed Awadh, was arrested this year in the masjid mosque police raid and charged with belonging to the al-shabab and planning terror attacks but was released for lack of evidence. The records contradict their families’ claims that the two were innocent victims with no history of trouble with law.  Willis Raburu has the details.
