Fresh trouble for Agriculture CS Linturi as LSK files petition against him

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has filed a petition in court against Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi.

The lawyers’ body wants the court to declare that the Parliamentary Select Committee on the impeachment of CS Linturi erred in its findings.

They also want the court to order the government to compensate all the farmers who were affected by the supply and distribution of the fake fertiliser.

Similarly, LSK wants the court to find the CS and his Principal Secretary liable for the actions and unfit to hold public office.

The judge directed the body to serve the respondents with the petition and appear in court for further directions on July 4, 2024.
