Gachagua accuses Ruto of profiling Kikuyus through economic sabotage, terror charges

In Gachagua’s words, Ruto profiled Kikuyus in the 2007 Post Election violence, and is back to finish his mission during his tenure as president. 

“History is repeating itself, and the architect William Ruto is back on the deck. He is hell bent to finish his unfinished business with the people of Mt. Kenya. Destroy their businesses and make them black sheep of Kenya,” stated Gachagua on Wednesday.

According to the former DP, the targeted profiling of the Kikuyu community is through the destruction of their business to sabotage them economically. 

Further, Gachagua says that terrorism charges are also used as a weapon to profile citizens the Mt.Kenya region. 

“When a police station in Mawego (Homa Bay) was torched, suspects were charged with arson. But when a police station is torched in Kiambu suspects from the Kikuyu nation are charged with terrorism,” said Gachagua. 

He referred to a case where allegations of terror financing and organizing violence have been made against Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji and other citizens allied to him. 

Gachagua further alleges that the state unleashed a well-organised militia to maim, kill and destroy property during Saba Saba protests and blame it on the Kikuyu community. 

He says that the militia was dropped in specific locations in the Mt Kenya region on the eve of July 7, before police barricades were placed at strategic points. 

“The militia were procured by Ruto, governors and MPs allied to him,” said Gachagua, arguing that the militia had clear instructions to loot and destroy specific property under the supervision of police. 

In Gachagua’s revelation , a killer squad of 101 members, that works under the directions of National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General Noordin Haji was armed with assault riffles and drove in a convoy of unmarked Subarus. 

“NIS has procured Subarus to give an impression that it is the DCI shooting and maiming. This squad of 101 people was formed when I was still in government. Officers were recruited from the administration police unit for special training by NIS on abductions, killings and cover ups,” he said.
