At a thanksgiving service in Karigu-ini, Kenol in Murang'a County, DP Gachagua urged Governor Kang'ata to personally approach President Ruto whenever he has a point of contention.
"...and gvernor Kang'ata , I hope you will not write President Ruto a letter. If you have any issues his doors are open you can talk to him from State House," he said as the congregation laughed.
DP Gachagua was referring to a controversial letter to President Uhuru in January 2021, which insisted that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) remains unpopular in the Mount Kenya region.
In the letter, Kang'ata advised President Uhuru that BBI faced spectacular defeat in the region and that he was ready for the consequences, but he had to tell the president the truth.
He maintained the proponents of BBI need to change tact if the proposals are to see the light of day.
“If the party decided to remove me from the position of whip because of my stand, then I will accept and thank them for giving me the chance to serve,” Kangata said addressing the press.
“We need to accept good ideas irrespective of who they are coming from, there are ideas that have been given by the so called Tangatanga wing that are very good.”
