Gambling machines valued at Ksh.700,000 destroyed in Garissa County
Twenty-six gambling machines valued at over Ksh.700,000 were destroyed on Saturday in Garissa county, following a three-month crackdown exercise.
While addressing the press at the Garissa dumpsite, Garissa County Commissioner Meru Mwangi indicated that the machines were rounded up in the months of December last year and January this year.
Two years ago, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i directed regional and county commissioners to eradicate illegal gambling activities.
The CS ordered raids on premises and confiscation of unlicensed gambling machines.
