Garissa Senator Haji accuses Governor Jama of running county ‘badly’

Garissa Senator Yussuf Haji has poked holes at Governor Nathif Jama’s administration saying that it is nearing collapse.
Haji, who was addressing the media in Garissa Town, said he had decided not to publicly attack Jama’s administration since doing so would aggravate the situation and cause unnecessary tension in the country.
In a rare show of discontent with Jama’s administration, Haji revealed that he had on several occasions spoken to the Governor both in public and in private to express his dissatisfaction on the way he was running the affairs of the county adding that his advice had not been taken seriously.
“I have personally called the Governor in my office thrice and openly told him about the complains that were being raised by the people. I have even done the same in the presence of county MPs. But unfortunately, what follows afterwards are greetings and embracing each other but nothing changes,” he said.
Haji said that it was unfortunate to see contractors and business people camping at the treasury offices asking for payments months after offering services to the county government.
