GG Kariuki’s widow Gladys Wairimu dies at 80

Gladys Wairimu Kariuki, the widow of the late veteran politician Godfrey Gitahi ‘G.G.’ Kariuki, has passed on.

Mrs Kariuki died on Sunday morning at Nairobi Hospital while receiving treatment, according to her family.

Mrs Kariuki served as Chairlady of the Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation (MYWO), Laikipia branch; a councillor; a teacher at Ngarenaro Primary School in Nyahururu town; and a respected member of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA).

She is survived by her five children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her late husband G.G. Kariuki was a former Internal Security Minister and former Laikipia Senator.
