Girl, 18, found raped, murdered in Busia

An 18-year-old girl has been found dead at Fort Jesus in Busia County after going missing a few days ago.

Confirming the incident, Busia County Police Commander Timothy Odinga said the teenager, who was working as a house help at Jacinta Obina Moraa’s house, was raped then strangled to death.

“The deceased had scratches on her neck and we found out that she was sexually assaulted before being smothered to death,” he said.

However, Jecinta’s neighbours told Citizen Digital that the deceased allegedly had a disagreement with her boss before she went missing. Jecinta, the employer, reportedly suspected her of stealing a television set from her house.

The girl’s body was taken to Tanka Hospital awaiting post-mortem as police launch investigations into the murder.
