Give IDs to Nubians in Baringo – politician to government

A Baringo politician has accused the government of discriminating the Nubian community leaving in the area during the national Identity Cards issuance.

Lawyer David Kerich, who is eyeing the Baringo Central parliamentary seat, said no one should be discriminated against during the issuance of ID cards saying that all Kenyans have equal constitutional rights.

Speaking on Monday, January 23 during the launch of Jubilee smart card in Baringo Central, Kerich said the government should start issuing IDs to the community so that they can participate in the August 8 General Election.

The Nairobi-based lawyer, who wants to unseat Sammy Mwaita in Baringo Central, added that the community has been sidelined because of their religion.

He further urged the government to provide relief food to the people affected by drought in Baringo.
