‘God’ Jehova Wanyonyi alive but unwell

Jehova Wanyonyi, the spiritual leader and god of the Lost Israel sect, is reportedly alive but unwell and hospitalised in a Nairobi hospital.

This new development put to rest suspicions that the self-proclaimed God had died and was buried secretly in Uganda.

It is now reported that the sons of the 98 year-old are taking care of him at the undisclosed hospital where he has been for the past one month, around the time rumours of his demise emerged.

Eliab Masinde, a family spokesman, said the spiritual leader will soon surface and prove his critics wrong.

“We know he is with his sons at a hospital in Nairobi where they are taking care of him…he is not dead and we will make information about him available soon,” said Masinde.

Wanyonyi has a following of about 1,000 in Kenya and Uganda and lives in Nangili on the border of Uasin Gishsu and Kakamega Counties.

His home doubles up as his followers’ shrine and he is said to have 25 wives and 95 children.

Wanyonyi has previously been quoted saying that he is God and decided to come to earth after people ignored his son Jesus.

His followers have been camping at his home in Nangili since he was reported missing and presumed dead on July 17, 2015.

They are confident that their God is alive and will show up soon.
