Gov’t Directs Refugees Back To Camps

The government has directed all refugees including those with registration documents issued by Kenyan authorities to head back to their respective refugee camps urgently. The commissioner for refugees Haron Komen says the government is avoiding a situation where it will be compelled to forcibly move the refugees back to the camps and has therefore advised them to leave voluntarily. The directive comes even as a police swoop targeting illegal immigrants spread to South C and South B estates in Nairobi where officers apprehended about 200 suspects.
