Gov’t Pays Mzee Ojwang’s Medical Bill

Mzee Ojwang’, one of Kenya’s most revered comedians, was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after a prolonged illness.

In tweet, Deputy President William Ruto said: “The Government will pay the medical bill for Mzee Ojwang. We wish him a quick recovery.”

Speaking to Citizen TV on Thursday, Mzee Ojwang’ and the Vitimbi crew said that they were dismissed by the National broadcaster without any benefits despite working for it for over 40 years.

 

PARTIAL BLINDNESS

Mzee Ojwang’ was admitted to the Loresho Hospital on Wednesday after a prolonged eye ailment.

On Tuesday, the Vitimbi crew led by Mama Kayai paid Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko a visit at his office to solicit for aid in taking Mzee Ojwang’ to hospital.

On Wednesday, the flamboyant Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko paid Mzee Ojwang’ a visit at his Sinai home before taking him to hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Mzee Ojwang' has been suffering partial blindness which has affected his daily life. The problem is also said to have caused him a severe and recurrent headache.
