Governor Joho agrees to divorce his Italian wife Giovanni Fazzini

After amicably resolving their fallout, Joho signed consent with his Italian wife of 12 years, Madina Giovanni Fazzini, at the Mombasa Chief Kadhi's Court.

In an affidavit filed with the court on January 26, 2022, Fazzini claimed that she and Joho divorced in 2013 and that there is little chance of them reuniting.

Following their squabble, Fazzini also claimed that Joho immediately left their marital home, leaving the two children in her care, implying that the marriage is no longer valid.

“Since the respondent Joho moved out of our matrimonial home in June 2013, the substance of our marriage has dissipated and has no basis to be sustained from a legal and social standpoint,” she said in her affidavit. .

The couple married in February 2011 and have two children aged nine and eight. 

“I am clear and unequivocal that our marriage has broken down irretrievably with no chance of revival given we have both moved on over the years," said Fazzini.

Governor Joho had been given 14 days to respond to the petition by the Kadhi’s court.
