Governor Mwangi Wa Iria picks Alfred Onyambu as his presidential running mate

Usawa kwa Wote party leader and presidential
flagbearer Mwangi Wa Iria has settled on Alfayo Onyambu as his running mate
ahead of the upcoming August General elections.
The Murang’a Governor made the announcement just
two days before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) deadline
set for May 16, 2022.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Governor Wa
Iria introduced the relatively little-known politician who hails from Kisii to
his supporters.
“This morning on behalf of my USAWA Party, I
have nominated Hon. Alfayo Onyambu to be my running mate for the August 9, General
Election to back up my presidential bid. Hon. Onyambu, a politician who hails
from Kisii County will be on my joint presidential ticket,” said the Murang’a County
boss.
“At Usawa party we are fighting for a better,
fairer and brighter future for every Kenyan rolling up our sleeves empowering
grassroot voters, and organizing everywhere to build a winning team.”
Mr. Onyambu in 2017 unsuccessfully vied for
Kisii County’s senatorial seat under a Jubilee ticket, but lost out to Prof.
Sam Ongeri.
