Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party National chairperson Gladys Wanga now claims that former Deputy president RigaThi Gachagua has hijacked the Gen Z-led protests to get into power through the backdoor.

Wanga has strongly castigated the Democracy for the Citizens (DCP) party leader over the Wednesday protests in Nairobi and other parts of the country saying the unrest was well planned and executed by the opposition led by Gachagua to destabilize the country.

The Homa Bay Governor says Gachagua and his team wanted to plunge the country into anarchy with an intention of overthrowing president William Ruto while hiding behind the Gen Z protests.

Speaking at Asumbi National School in Rangwe constituency, when she presided over the issuance of Ksh.50 million bursary from Rangwe NG-CDF, Wanga told Gachagua to stop hiding behind the Gen Zs to get power through the back door but instead wait until the 2027 general election.

Wanga says the ODM party is supporting the broad-based government will not allow Gachagua to continue destabilizing the government by sponsoring unconstitutional protests.

Similar sentiments were also echoed by Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo, who told opposition leaders to follow the law and stop hiding behind the Gen Z movement for their own political gains.
