Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has commended three county departments for their outstanding performance in the 2024/2025 financial year, urging them to sustain the momentum and aim even higher.

Speaking during the release of the annual departmental performance report, Governor Ndeti named the Department of Agriculture, Food Security, Cooperative and Livestock Development, the Department of Finance, Revenue, Economic Planning and ICT, and the Department of Lands, Urban Planning and Energy as the top performers, in that order.

The evaluation process was overseen by the Performance Management Advisory Committee, comprising eminent professionals: Mr. Mutua Kilaka (Chair and former PS, Treasury), Mr. Sylvester Muli (Advisor on infrastructure and former Chief Architect, GoK), Prof. Ndeti Ndati (University of Nairobi), and Dr. Kaloki (ICT advisor and consultant).

The three departments received trophies and certificates in recognition of their exemplary service delivery.

While congratulating the winners, Governor Ndeti challenged them to remain consistent and push for greater achievements.
“You must work at sustaining or even bettering your momentum. Sliding backwards is not an option,” she said.

The Governor also sent a stern warning to underperforming departments, stressing that improvement was the only acceptable path.
“The writing is on the wall. The only alternative is to do better—nothing less will be acceptable,” she emphasized.

Governor Ndeti noted that the evaluation was guided by performance contracts signed last year by each department’s CECM and Chief Officers.

She was accompanied at the event by her Deputy, Francis Mwangangi, County Executive Committee Members (CECMs), and County Chief Officers.
