Governors To Lose National Flag And “His Excellency” Title In New Bill

Governors could soon lose status symbols such as flying the national flag in their limousines and being addressed as ‘your excellency’ as parliament moves to cut them to size. This week, the national assembly is scheduled to debate the national flag, emblems and names amendment bill, 2013 that was passed by senate last year. And to escalate the governors’ woes, nine of them have been summoned for grilling by the senate committee on finance over alleged misuse of devolved funds. Francis Gachuri tells us more.
