Gov't advertises Ksh.900K Spokesperson job; How to apply

Through an advertisement on Tuesday, PSC CEO Simon Rotich said that the applications should be submitted on or before February 27 at 5:00pm the latest.
He added that the applications should be made online through the commission's website www.publicservice.go.ke or through the jobs portal www.psckjobs.go.ke.
For one to be an eligible applicant, one needs to be a Kenyan citizen, served for a minimum period of 15 years as a media or communication practitioner - 3 of which should be in the grade of Director, Job Group 'S', or a position comparable to the positions.
One must also have a bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communication and Media Studies, Social Sciences or qualifications in similar fields.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili, both written and spoken, is mandatory as well as excellent communication skills.
"A candidate should demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the national development goals, policies and objectives, including the Government's demonstration agenda," read part of the statement.
"They should be a member of a relevant professional body and in good standing and demonstrate the ability to think strategically and respond effectively to changing circumstances."
Shortlisted candidates, Rotich added, will be required to provide original copies of their National ID cards, academic professional certificate and transcripts during interviews.
They will also need to give the original copy of the letter of appointment.
Whoever becomes appointed will enjoy a monthly salary scaling between Ksh.292,765 to Ksh.576,120.
They will also be entitled to House, Entertainment, Extraneous and Domestic Servants allowances reserved with a Ksh.100,000 kitty each, totaling to a maximum of Ksh.976,120 or a minimum of 692,765 per month.
Other benefits will include a Leave Allowance as per the existing guidelines in the Civil Service, an Annual Leave for 30 days per financial year and Medical Cover as provided by the government.
