Gov’t expands the Free Maternity Programme

The government has launched an expanded free maternal care programme that will see more pregnant women across the country access free services. The programme dubbed “Linda Mama” is set to incorporate an additional 700 faith based facilities and 2,000 selected private sector facilities to offer the services under the national health insurance fund. And as Leah Ngari the expanded programme will ease the burden on many families of expectant needy mothers.
