Gov't launches 'Kazi Majuu' platform for Kenyans seeking jobs abroad

Foreign Affairs CS Alfred Mutua.

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Dr Alfred Mutua on Friday announced the launch of a platform to empower Kenyan citizens to explore job opportunities across the world.

According to the CS, the platform dubbed 'Kazi Majuu'  will provide Kenyans with direct access to international job listings, eliminating the need for intermediaries and connecting job seekers with employment opportunities across the globe.

"Kenyans can go online and look for job opportunities all over the world. We will be posting a lot of opportunities from different countries. You go in there and you will find a section where you will put in your details to agents who are recruiting people from different parts of the world or even from this country," said Mutua.

He was speaking during the unveiling of Digital Government services at KICC, Nairobi. The event was presided over by President William Ruto.

Mutua assured that by uploading one's details to the system, job seekers will be connected directly to the employer.

Traditionally, job seekers have relied on recruitment agencies, middlemen, unscrupulous agents, and word-of-mouth connections to explore international opportunities.

However, this often comes with limitations, including limited access, high costs, and a lack of transparency.

With Kazi Majuu, Mutua says Kenyans will also have a chance to also be tracking individuals who are successful to secure a job outside the country.

"It will also be able to track the remittances and how your life is continuing overseas," added Mutua.
