The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has released Ksh.2,095,360,000 for beneficiaries who enrolled to the Inua Jamii program and another Ksh.6,118,000 for those enrolled in the Nutrition Improvement through Cash and Health Education (NICHE), programme.

The ministry says that the funds were released on Friday, December 1, and payment will commence on Monday, December 4.

The money will be credited to accounts of 1,044,621 Inua Jamii beneficiaries, with each receiving Ksh. 2000, for November.

The Inua Jamii program was launched in 2015 by President Uhuru Kenyatta as one of the channels for his administration to tackle poverty and cater to the underprivileged in society.

The program has since been adopted by the Kenya Kwanza government and a presidential directive in July 2023 enabled beneficiaries to receive payments every month.
