A team led by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba and Kisii Governor Simba Arati has begun tours across Gusii to provide updates on stalled government projects, including the revival of the decommissioned Suneka airstrip.

This comes barely three weeks after Gusii leaders met President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi.

Speaking Friday in Suneka, Bonchari, CS Ogamba announced that government experts have been deployed to re-assess the site and plan for the airstrip’s construction.

"The Kenya Kwanza Administration is committed to expanding transport infrastructure across the country, in full recognition of the fact that they are a catalyst for economic growth. The construction and re-commissioning of Suneka Airstrip is part of these efforts," he said.

Other projects set for revamp include Kisii Prison, Gusii Stadium, and major roads across the region.

The leaders urged residents to stay united and support the government’s development agenda, promising that these initiatives would spur further growth.
