Guinea Bissau supports Raila's bid for AUC post

Guinea Bissau has formally endorsed Kenya’s candidate in the upcoming election for the Africa Union Commission Chairmanship, Raila Odinga. 

The formal support for Raila was confirmed by host president William Ruto, who officially welcomed his counterpart, Umaro Sissoco Embaló at the start of a state visit at State House Nairobi. 

The two heads of state presided over the signing of bilateral agreements between the two countries on trade, infrastructure development as well as students scholarships for agricultural, health and tourism programs.

"Thank you for supporting Kenya's candidature for the AUC. I recognise your efforts in canversing support for him in West Africa. We thank you for the brotherhood you have demonstrated," Ruto stated.
