The
high court will on the 18th of April make a ruling on an application made by
Italian claiming ownership of the contested Kirima land.
The
court will decide on whether it will issue temporary orders preserving the
contentious Kirima land in Njiru pending the determination of the application.
Meanwhile,
the court on Monday issued directions in the matter and directed parties to
file and serve their papers.
“Documents
filed or served given timelines shall stand expunged, parties to avail hard
copies of their documents via court registry,” Environment and Land Court Judge
Lucy Mbugua directed.
The
Italian family has disputed claims that they leased the land to the Kirimas.
Bernado
Vicezo De says that they were not aware of any sale or lease to the Kirimas and
were shocked by the judgement issued on October 23 last year.
