Homabay Town Constituency’s United
Democratic Alliance (UDA) party Chairperson Frank Oluoch met with local widows’
groups’ leaders, urging them to mobilize their members to welcome President
William Ruto during Madaraka Day celebrations in the region.
Oluoch met leaders from Shauri Yako Estate,
Arujo Ward, on Tuesday, and emphasized the significance of the event as a
moment of pride and unity for Homa Bay.
“Let us demonstrate our unwavering support
by ensuring a massive, spirited turnout. Together, we embody the resilience
this county stands for,” he said.
He also addressed rising tensions within
the UDA fraternity following allegations linking party members to the recent
assassination of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were.
Oluoch called for calm, dismissing the
claims that his killing was politically motivated as “baseless tactics to
destabilize our unity.”
“We trust in the rule of law and urge our
supporters to remain peaceful as authorities investigate,” he added.
During the meeting, Oluoch disbursed
financial aid to the widows’ groups, pledging additional support post-Madaraka
Day.
