Candidates who sat for the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations now have an easier way of accessing their results.

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha soon after announcing the results on Saturday, outlined the process through which, with just a touch of your mobile device or computer, you can retrieve your results.

Prof. Magoha said that the ministry, through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), provides two major ways of access; through the KNEC portal and through mobile SMS.

For parents, guardians or students, one is required to ensure they have the index number of the student.

For those using SMS, the cost for one message is Ksh.25.

You will be required to key in the index number followed by word 'KCSE' to 20076.

As for the KNEC Website;

1.      Students should log in to the portal

2.      Click on the KCSE tab and select the YEAR they sat for the exams

3.      Key in their INDEX number

Similarly, the CS said that alternatively, candidates can collect their results from their respective examination centres physically or visit the county education offices.

He cautioned of web traffic on the portal as a lot of users would be on the site hours after the release of the results, hence urging users to be patient.

The CS revealed that 831,015 candidates sat for the exam in 2021.
