‘I should write a book,’ Linet Toto gushes after boyfriend moves her to tears in surprise proposal

Bomet Women Representative Linet 'Toto' Chepkorir with her fiancée, Godfrey Kimutai Tanui.

Bomet Women Representative Linet 'Toto' Chepkorir has published a wholesome video of the day her fiancée, Godfrey Kimutai Tanui, proposed to her and the sweet, assuring words they exchanged thereafter.

The twosome, who made headlines on Valentine’s Day, and has been trending ever since, have both taken to their respective social media channels to reminisce on the day they both decided to take their relationship to the next level.

On one knee, Mutai proposed to the upstart female politician against a rather tacky garlanded backdrop - a white crumpled sheer, a flower wall, a gigantic 'Marry Me' proposal sign and a rose-flower arrangement, interspersed by glimmering candles.

An elated Toto, donning her signature short hair and a pale white floral dress, looked on as her man mouthed the magic words before saying an emphatic 'YES'.

A day after the photos did mad rounds across the internet, Linet published a grainy video on Twitter which showed her man making romantic promises to her and throwing around a joke or two.

"God has given me grace to partner with her as my fiancée. This is just the beginning. There's a wedding ahead. I want to promise her that I'll make her the happiest, in order to serve the people of Bomet...I'll assist her with political advice, with my views and generally help her achieve her goals, ", he gushed.

On her part, the Women Representative enthused over her man, heaping praises on him and, just like him, throwing around a couple jokes.

"This has never happened in my life...I was telling my fiancé that I should write a book. I want to congratulate my sweetheart... (They used to tell him) You are not supposed to marry politicians. It is said that they are not faithful and will mistreat you because they have money. But I want to assure you.... that I am a completely different person, " she assured a beaming Mutai.

Mutai, who goes by the rather fancy nickname Nifty Kim on Facebook, has also published a video on YouTube capturing the entire ceremony.

"I feel overwhelmed with love and excited for the next chapter of my life with the best person I could ever have asked for. Thank you, My Love for saying yes," he captioned the post.

"Big thanks to my family, relatives and friends who played a big role in the planning and execution of this surprise proposal. God bless you."

Linet's surprise proposal caught the attention of many across the internet, from regular people to leaders who all chimed in and left either a congratulatory message or a snide remark.
