I will work with gov’t – Odinga

CORD leader Raila Odinga has vowed to work with the government in setting up development projects in the country.

Odinga, who has been at loggerheads with the government on the issue of corruption said he does not have a problem with Jubilee neither is he bent on fighting the National Youth Service (NYS) programme.

He, however, stated that there is need to have transparency in handling of NYS programmes and investigations into the corruption allegations facing the institution.

Odinga was speaking during the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Archdiocese of Kisumu at Uzima University College on Monday.

On his part, President Uhuru Kenyatta called for unity among the country’s political leadership in order to ensure service delivery for Kenyans.

“Our aim is to eradicate poverty and transform the lives of citizens. We want Kenyans to live peacefully, in unity and be proud of their country,” the President said.

“We want this project to empower our youth. As leaders, let us join hands irrespective of political affiliation to see our youth reap maximum benefits from the project because our aim is to improve the lives of all Kenyans.”

Other leaders present at the event include Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma, Kisumu Member of Parliament Ken Obura among others.
