IEBC airlifting ballot papers to far flung areas

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has started dispatching ballot papers to far-flung areas liked Mandera, Wajir, Lamu, Turkana and parts of Samburu.

According to the Commission, helicopters will be used during the exercise due to bad terrain and insecurity in the five counties.

The distribution of election materials to various elective areas started yesterday (July 7) after the electoral body tested it’s results transmission system on Wednesday.

Chairman Wafula Chebukati stated that all campaigns will close by 6pm on Saturday, 48 hours to the General Election.
