Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s controversial son Muhoozi
Kainerugaba is on the spotlight, again.
This time, however, he’s not spewing anything troublesome,
but rather asking for forgiveness.
Muhoozi, in a tweet posted on Thursday evening, said he has
never had any beef to settle with Kenya’s President William Ruto.
He, however, asked the new Head of State, should he have
inadvertently stepped on his toes in any scenario, to pardon him.
“I have never had any problem with Afande Ruto. If I made a mistake anywhere, I ask him to forgive me as his young brother. God bless East Africa,” he wrote, attached with two photos of the President.
This comes a fortnight after the Ugandan army man, in a
series of tweets, talked of Uganda’s military plan to allegedly “capture
Nairobi.”
His remarks angered many Kenyans, sparking off a Twitter war
between the two neighbours, prompting Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet
Secretary nominee Alfred Mutua to hold talks with Uganda High Commissioner to
Kenya Amb. Dr Hassan Galiwango.
On the back of his controversial tweets, Muhoozi’s father President
Museveni went ahead to promote him to the rank of General.
Museveni then released a statement asking “our Kenyan
brothers and sisters to forgive us for tweets sent by General Muhoozi, former
Commander of Land Forces here, regarding the election matters in that great
country.”
