The immediate former Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga made his farewell speech at the Supreme Court on Thursday, June 16th, 2016.

He also named Justice Mohammed Ibrahim the acting Chief Justice while Justice Richard Mwongo will oversee the functions of the High Court, while Anne Amadi will remain the Judiciary Chief Registrar.

During his farewell, Mutunga handed the official flag to Justice Ibrahim.

The official number plate of Mutunga’s vehicle was also removed and replaced with a civilian number plate in his last day as the CJ.

Mutunga opted to retire a year before the lapsing of his six-year tenure after serving for a five-year-term.
