Hosted by the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry in collaboration with the Kenya Investment Authority, the event marked a significant milestone in fostering trade and investment discussions between Africa and China.
The expo attended by over 600 Chinese enterprises and 231 exhibitors served as a dynamic platform for showcasing the diverse opportunities for economic collaboration.
High-profile dignitaries, including Trade Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano and Cao Zhiqiang Vice Governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, graced the occasion, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic ties between China and Africa.
The Expo witnessed the signing of ten trade agreements between private sectors from Kenya, Tanzania, Djibouti, and Chinese enterprises, paving the way for mutually beneficial partnerships in various sectors. These agreements underscored the commitment of both regions to enhancing economic cooperation and driving sustainable development.
Aligned with President Xi Jinping's initiatives outlined at the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), CAETE 2024 laid the groundwork for implementing economic and trade initiatives at the subnational level.
With previous editions yielding substantial results, this year's Expo aimed to further deepen the bonds of cooperation between China and Africa.
