Jeremiah Kioni now claims face masks were used to rig 2022 election

Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni now claims that the 2022 General Election was marred by massive rigging, allegedly orchestrated by the use of face masks.

Kioni told Inooro TV on Wednesday that he was quoting intelligence reports that revealed how senior Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) staffers wore facemasks and campaigned for UDA inside voting halls.

"When you have a face mask on, your lips cannot be seen and the voice is stifled. They influenced the voters to vote us out," Kioni claimed.

While warning the Mt. Kenya region that they had auctioned their political souls to a very ill-informed choice, Kioni claimed that voting in many parts of Mt Kenya took place at night "like witchcraft as opposed to the time from 6am to 5pm stipulated by law."

According to Kioni, the evidence of electoral malpractice in the Mt. Kenya region, which is set to be presented in court as losers in various elective seats contest the results, will be shocking.

"We are profiling the IEBC officers who presided over the elections. It employed people from one community and related friends and families," Kioni said

The things that our petitions in the governor, senator, woman rep, parliamentary and MCA seats will expose will shock you,"

Although he did not provide evidence, the career lawyer and land economist claimed that evidence to be presented in petitions will show that urnout in Mt Kenya was 40%, not the over 60% announced by the IEBC.

"Ask yourself, in all the other elections, you have seen the long queues,  but this time, there were minimal queues, people would just go vote and return home with no delays," Kioni said.

"This is to mean that voter turn out in Mt.Kenya was a lie, we know the turnout was not above 40,"

According to Kioni, it is the first time since 1963 that opinion polls were wrong, despite several having pointed a different outcome
