Joyce Wanjiru Karumba, wife of Gospel DJ Krowbar, has died

In a statement released on Monday, the family confirmed that Joyce passed away in the early hours of Monday, January 26, 2026, at around 3 a.m. 

The family said she had been battling health complications following a kidney transplant she underwent last year.

According to the statement, Joyce demonstrated resilience and deep faith throughout a prolonged and challenging medical journey. 

According to the family statement, while she had initially shown signs of recovery and was briefly discharged home, she was later re-admitted after developing further complications in recent weeks.

Joyce is remembered by family and friends as a woman of courage, love, and quiet strength. 

She is survived by her husband, Karumba Ngatia, and their three children: Toria, Riri, and Imani.

The family has appealed for prayers, love, and understanding as they navigate the difficult period of mourning and make arrangements for her final journey.

The family has also appealed to well-wishers willing to offer financial support to assist with funeral arrangements.
