The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has been named the overall winner in this year’s Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards under the Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices category, marking a major milestone in its drive to strengthen transparency and accountability in public service.

The FiRe Awards, regarded as East Africa’s most prestigious platform for financial reporting excellence, promote high standards of accountability, transparency, and integrity in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and global best practices in governance, social responsibility, and environmental disclosures.

Chief Registrar of the Judiciary and JSC Secretary Winfridah Mokaya received the award on behalf of the Commission, accompanied by members of the JSC secretariat.

According to the Commission, the recognition underscores its unwavering commitment to excellence in public financial management and aligns with its constitutional obligation under Article 172 to promote a Judiciary that is independent, accountable, effective, efficient, and transparent.

The win further highlights the JSC’s exemplary stewardship of public resources and strengthens its profile as a model institution in upholding good governance.

This award comes just a year after the Commission was ranked First Runner-Up in the 2024 FiRe Awards, signalling continued progress in financial reporting and institutional performance.

A total of 1,507 entities from both the public and private sectors took part in the 2025 awards, up from 1,132 entries last year, reflecting growing interest in strong financial governance.

The Awards are jointly promoted by key governance and regulatory bodies including ICPAK, PSASB, CMA, NSE, and RBA, further highlighting the meticulous evaluation standards applied.
