Jubilee, Maina Njenga given a week to sort out differences

The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal has given Jubilee Party and Laikipia Senatorial aspirant, Maina Njenga, one week to ensure they settle Njenga’s nomination dispute out of court.

The tribunal, led by Kyalo Mbobu, gave the directions after the parties indicated that they would like to have the matter settled out of court.

If no agreement is reached before Wednesday next week, then the matter will proceed to a full hearing on March 22.

The former Mungiki leader sued Jubilee Party for declining to accept his nomination papers for the Laikipia Senatorial seat.

He argues that the party infringed on his political rights, despite paying 250,000 shillings as a requisite fee for registration and nomination.
