Kabete nude extortion ring exposed

Four men are in custody at Kabete police station, Nairobi County, for running a nude photos extortion racket.

The racket revolves around coercing people into a house, forcing them to strip, taking photos of them naked and threatening to release the images on social media sites if payments are not made.

In the most recent case, one of the suspects is said to have invited a man into his house. When the man arrived, he noticed that the apartment was empty except for a single bed in the room.

Without warning, three goons appeared from under the bed and subjected the victim to a humiliating strip before taking photographs of him in the nude.

The perpetrators then proceeded to demand for money lest they make the sensitive images available to the public.

While investigations are ongoing, police are calling on members of the public who might have experienced the exaction to report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kabete.

Residents of the area insist that this is not the first time such a thing has happened in the area.
