Kabogo Differs With MPs Over Headquarters Relocation

Kiambu governor William Kabogo and Kiambu county MPs have found themselves at loggerheads over the push to revert the headquarters to Kiambu town.

Governor Kabogo now claims that some MPs from the county have embarked on inciting the public over the issue.

Speaking during a meeting in Kiambu town, Kabogo accused Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa of trying to incite the Kiambu people over the relocation.

Kabogo further pointed out that the issue has been overly politicized.

But in a quick rejoinder, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa blamed Kabogo for the delay in relocating the office from Thika.

Ichungwa who was accompanied by two of his colleagues Paul Koinange of Kiambaa and John Kiragu of Limuru said that people had been suffering trekking long distances to Thika to seek important services.

Ichungwa further added that this issue is not personal but has been put forward in the best interest of the public.

The relocation of county offices was slated for March this year but there has been no indication of the move so far.
