Kajiado workers’ union officials protested outside Kajiado County Assembly seeking justice for their sacked colleagues who were fired under unclear circumstances.

The union expressed their dissatisfaction in the manner under which Kelly Marina  lost her job while on Maternity Leave.

Other issues raised by the employees included an alleged warning by the county government that they should not join any union. Those who joined were warned of a possible sack.

Union officials said they were dissatisfied with the services offered by the County Assembly Clerk, a Mr Daniel Konyango, and wanted him to step down or vacate the office.

The Clerk has been accused of misusing public funds and abuse of office.

The union has given the County Government a 14-day ultimatum to resolve the issues and reinstate those who have been fired unprocedurally failure to which they will forcefully eject the Clerk and the Kajiado County Assembly Speaker, Johnson Osoi, from office.

The Leader of Majority, John Kirimpai, assured the officials that the matter will be addressed within the shortest time possible.

Efforts to reach the Clerk and the Speaker for comments were futile
