The Kenya African National Union (KANU) party has announced that it will host the 2025 Democracy Union of Africa (DUA) Forum in Nairobi from October 26 to 29, an event expected to draw leaders, policymakers, and political thinkers from across the continent.

Themed ‘Building a Balanced Africa–Europe Alliance,’ the high-level gathering will focus on shaping Africa’s democratic future while strengthening cooperation between the two continents.

The Democracy Union of Africa (DUA) brings together more than 25 center-right political parties from across Africa, all committed to advancing democracy, individual liberty, market-driven economies, and accountable governance.

KANU Chairman Gideon Moi said the upcoming forum underscores Kenya’s growing role in fostering democratic dialogue and collaboration across borders.

“The 2025 DUA Forum in Nairobi, hosted by KANU, positions Kenya at the heart of continental dialogue on the future of democracy and international cooperation,” said Moi.

“This forum will assemble some of the continent’s brightest minds to reimagine politics as a platform for ideas, innovation, and meaningful partnerships.”

According to KANU Director of Communications Nyainda Manasse, the four-day event will feature panel discussions, policy dialogues, and youth roundtables touching on democracy, trade, innovation, and security cooperation between Africa and Europe.

The forum is expected to conclude with a joint declaration outlining key strategies for building stronger political, economic, and cultural ties between the two regions.

Manasse confirmed that preparations for the event are in top gear and that Nairobi is ready to host delegates from across Africa and Europe.
